Job Purpose
The Airport Maintenance Services supports the daily operations and maintenance of airport facilities, ensuring all areas are operational, compliant with regulations, and meet safety standards.
Position Accountability
Description Airfield and Equipment Maintenance:
1. Maintain and inspect airfield systems such as lighting, signage, and pavement markings to ensure compliance with aviation safety standards.
2. Conduct inspections and perform repairs on critical airfield equipment (e.g., jet bridges, baggage handling systems,).
3. Oversee routine maintenance of runways, taxiways, and aprons, ensuring they are free of debris and in optimal condition for aircraft operations.
Compliance and Aviation Safety:
4. Ensure compliance with aviation safety standards, particularly in airfield operations, maintaining all infrastructure to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., ICAO, FAA).
5. Monitor and enforce safety protocols during airfield maintenance activities, including the proper use of protective equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
6. Assist in the coordination of emergency response during airfield disruptions, contributing to safe and efficient recovery.
Specialized Equipment and Systems:
7. Perform preventive maintenance on airport facilities to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and compliance with operational standards.
8. Coordinate with specialized contractors for airport facilities to execute repairs, upgrades, and maintenance tasks efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
9. Support the calibration and testing of essential airfield equipment, ensuring operational accuracy and compliance with safety regulations.
Operational and Collaborative Support:
10. Collaborate with airfield operations to ensure minimal disruption to flights and airport services during maintenance activities.
11. Coordinate airfield access for maintenance teams and contractors, ensuring work schedules are aligned with airport operations to avoid delays.
12. Assist with maintenance-related logistics, ensuring that spare parts, equipment, and tools are available for airfield maintenance tasks.
Documentation and Reporting:
13. Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs specific to airfield systems and equipment, ensuring regulatory compliance.
14. Assist in preparing airfield maintenance reports for review by senior management and regulatory bodies, providing insights on infrastructure performance.
Equipment and Resource Management:
15. Monitor airfield-related inventories, ensuring critical spare parts and equipment are available for maintenance tasks and minimizing operational disruptions.
16. Support energy efficiency initiatives by optimizing the use of airport lighting and electrical systems in line with sustainability goals. Team Development and Training:
17. Participate in training programs focused on aviation maintenance standards, regulatory updates, and safety procedures specific to airport infrastructure.
18. Contribute to a positive maintenance team culture, supporting knowledge-sharing and collaboration among airfield technicians. Project Support:
19. Support new airfield infrastructure projects, assisting with the setup and operational testing of new systems and equipment
