Central Plant & Chilled Water System

Job Purpose:

Ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of DACO’s chiller plants systems, including the primary and secondary chilled water system. Support the team in delivering high-quality services, optimizing plant performance, and maintaining reliable chilled water distribution across DACO’s airport facilities.

Position Accountability Description:

Central Plant Systems

1. Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of the chiller plants equipment, including chillers, pumps, and cooling towers, chilled water network ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency.
2. Monitor the performance of chiller plants, adjusting operational parameters to maintain required temperature and pressure levels in chilled water systems.
3. Troubleshoot and repair chiller plants, coordinating with vendors and external service providers for advanced repairs or component replacements when necessary.
4. Ensure all plant operations comply with DACO’s safety regulations and industry best practices, maintaining accurate logs for maintenance activities and system performance.
5. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new central plant equipment, ensuring proper integration and alignment with existing systems.

Chilled Water Systems

6. Oversee the operation and maintenance of chilled water distribution systems, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery to all airport facilities.
7. Conduct regular system diagnostics to identify potential inefficiencies or faults in the chilled water distribution network, implementing corrective actions as needed.
8. Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and piping systems within the chilled water network, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous cooling capacity.
9. Coordinate with building management systems (BMS) to optimize chilled water usage based on real-time operational demands, enhancing energy efficiency.
10. Assist in emergency response efforts by ensuring chilled water systems are operational during critical events and addressing any system failures promptly.

Compliance and Best Practices

11. Ensure all chill’s plants and chilled water system operations comply with local and international safety regulations, environmental standards, and DACO’s internal policies.
12. Conduct regular audits of plant and system operations, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
13. Assist with the preparation of documentation for inspections and audits conducted by regulatory bodies or internal teams.

Incident Management

14. Respond to operational issues, including system malfunctions or equipment failures, ensuring rapid resolution to maintain optimal system performance and minimize disruptions.
15. Participate in emergency drills related to plant or chilled water system failures, ensuring readiness and effective response during critical incidents.

Team Collaboration and Learning

16. Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and provide support, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
17. Engage in continuous learning by seeking feedback, attending training sessions, and staying updated on industry trends in central plant and chilled water systems.
