Job Purpose
Ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire detection and firefighting systems across Dammam Airport facilities. Support the team in maintaining high safety standards, ensuring fire protection systems are fully functional, compliant with safety regulations, and ready to respond to any fire-related emergencies.
Position Accountability Description
Fire Detection Systems
1. Perform routine inspections and testing of fire detection systems, including smoke detectors, fire alarms,
and control panels, to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.
2. Monitor fire detection systems to ensure proper detection of fire hazards and immediate activation of alarms, addressing any malfunctions or faults promptly.
3. Troubleshoot and repair fire detection systems, coordinating with external service providers for more complex repairs or replacements when necessary.
4. Assist in the installation and configuration of new fire detection systems, ensuring proper integration with existing building systems and adherence to regulatory standards.
Firefighting Systems
5. Oversee the operation and maintenance of firefighting equipment, including sprinklers, fire extinguishers,
hydrants, and fire water pumps, ensuring they are ready for immediate use in case of emergencies.
6. Conduct regular checks and maintenance of fire suppression systems, such as foam, water mist, and gas-based systems, ensuring functionality and compliance with fire safety regulations.
7. Inspect and maintain firewater supplies, including pumps, valves, and pipelines, ensuring adequate pressure and flow for firefighting needs across the airport.
8. Monitor firefighting system performance, performing preventive maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and continuous protection.
Compliance and Best Practices
9. Ensure all fire detection and firefighting system operations comply with local and international fire safety
regulations, environmental standards, and Dammam Airport internal safety policies.
10. Maintain accurate logs of inspections, repairs, and testing of fire detection and firefighting systems to ensure full traceability and compliance with audits.
11. Assist in preparing documentation for fire safety inspections and audits conducted by regulatory authorities or internal audit teams.
Incident Management
12. Respond promptly to fire alarms and system activations, ensuring the immediate deployment of
firefighting resources and addressing any issues that arise.
13. Participate in fire drills and emergency response exercises, ensuring that fire detection and firefighting systems are properly supporting airport safety protocols during critical incidents.
Team Collaboration and Learning
14. Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and provide support, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
15. Engage in continuous learning by seeking feedback, attending training sessions, and staying updated on industry trends in fire detection and firefighting systems.
