Landside Project Senior Manager

 Job Purpose

The Landside Project oversees all aspects of Landside Project Execution within the organization, ensuring that all Landside activities comply with the regulations and quality requirements. Handle Landside project management to ensure efficient control and project outcomes within a set timeline and budget.

 Position Accountability Description

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

1. Develop and implement strategic plans and provide strategic direction and leadership for project execution that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
2. Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring a high level of performance and professional development.
3. Monitor aerodrome trends and best practices to ensure the organization's project execution processes remain competitive and effective.

Project Management Oversight:

4. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of all landside projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
5. Operate as the key point of contact for all activities related to the landside projects including planning, day to day operational leadership, monitoring and managing reporting and communication for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Monitor and track the performance of programs and project portfolios (including quality, budget, cost and other parameters) and provide recommendations to the business plan based on the same
7. Ensure the acquisition of necessary permits and clearances for site work, and compliance with the relevant safety and environmental standards (GACAR, ICAO, FAA etc.).

Team Leadership and Development:

8. Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Execution team, setting clear performance expectations and providing continuous support.
9. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement development programs to enhance team capabilities.
10. Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and engaged workforce, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

11. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the landside project unit.
12. Provide regular reports and updates to Senior Management on project activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives.
13. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with project management policies and procedures.
14. Ensure all project documentation, progress reports, and safety records are in compliance with DACO policies.

Risk Management

15. Identify and mitigate risks associated with Project Execution, including safety hazards, regulatory compliance, and operational disruptions.
16. Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential risks and ensure business continuity.
17. Ensure that all project activities adhere to the organization's risk management policies and procedures.
18. Prepare business continuity plans to ensure minimal damage in case of any issues, delays and on-the-ground crises

Stakeholder Management:

19. Maintain strong relationships with key Stakeholders, including Contractors, Vendors, local Authorities, and community members.
20. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams and Stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any issues or concerns promptly.
21. Represent the organization in meetings with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with Aviation and Environmental standards.

Resource Allocation and Financial Management:

22. Identify opportunities for cost savings, value engineering and implement strategies to achieve financial efficiencies.
23. Review and advise on the legitimacy of any potential variation orders.
24. Monitor project expenditures and provide regular financial reports to Senior Management.
