Job Purpose

Ensure rigorous governance and compliance with standards, manage risks, evaluate project challenges, and maintain high-quality standards through continuous monitoring and comprehensive reporting.

Position Accountability Description

Operational Excellence

 

  1. Develop and manage a detailed project governance framework that aligns with DACO’s strategic objectives, ensuring effective oversight of all project activities.
  2. Establish and enforce rigorous governance standards, ensuring that the contractor adheres to all contractual obligations, including environmental, safety, and security requirements, while maintaining high levels of accountability.
  3. Coordinate and support the development and approval of project charters, ensuring that all project objectives, deliverables, and timelines are clearly defined and aligned with DACO’s strategic goals.
  4. Ensure the integration of governance processes into daily project activities, ensuring seamless implementation and adherence to governance standards.
  5. Monitor and evaluate DACO’s compliance with the technical aspects of the projects, ensuring strict adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices, and addressing any deviations promptly.
  6. Ensure strict adherence to DACO’s Project Construction guidelines, processes, and procedures by all project participants to maintain consistency and quality in project execution.
  7. Monitor the compliance of DACO and construction contractors with established guidelines, procedures, and processes, conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure continuous compliance.
  8. Conduct regular and thorough construction audits, preparing detailed inputs for the Planning & Reporting team to include in the progress reports for all projects, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  9. Facilitate the resolution of any governance-related issues or conflicts that arise during project execution, ensuring that they are addressed promptly and in line with established protocols.
  10. Ensure that all project governance activities are documented and reported to senior management, providing transparency and accountability.
  11. Conduct training sessions and workshops on governance standards and procedures for project teams and contractors, ensuring that all parties understand and comply with governance requirements.

Risk Management

12.Develop and implement comprehensive risk management policies and procedures, including the creation and maintenance of a detailed model risk register to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks.

13.Evaluate challenges and risks across projects, presenting detailed recommendations in comprehensive reports to facilitate informed decision-making.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

14.Disseminate and interpret the organization’s rules, regulations, decisions, and instructions to all contractors and consultants working on the sector’s projects, ensuring consistent understanding and compliance.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  1. Evaluate the effectiveness of governance processes through regular assessments and audits, making recommendations for improvements where necessary.
  2. Encourage continuous improvement in project governance activities by incorporating lessons learned and feedback into future projects.

Team Collaboration and Continuous Learning

  1. Work collaboratively with team members by sharing knowledge, providing support, and actively participating in team activities, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  2. Pursue continuous learning by seeking feedback, attending training sessions, and staying updated on industry trends, enhancing personal skills and professional growth 

Minimum Job Requirements

Education Background           

Bachelor’s degree: Engineering or equivalent

 Relevant Experience  

3 to 4 years of experience in project governance, compliance, or a related field.
