Job Purpose
Ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of the Royal Terminal facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks, diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions, and implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime. Collaborate with internal teams and adhere to safety protocols to maintain operational efficiency, safety standards, and overall reliability. Support the uninterrupted flow of terminal activities, contributing to a positive experience for staff and visitors.
Position Accountability Description
Operational Excellence
1. Conduct regular inspections of Royal Terminal facilities, identifying areas requiring maintenance or repair to prevent disruptions in service.
2. Execute routine maintenance activities, ensuring that all terminal systems are functioning optimally and efficiently.
3. Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical, and structural components to ensure smooth operations.
4. Ensure timely response to urgent maintenance requests and address emergencies with minimal disruption to terminal activities.
5. Monitor the condition of all terminal equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and addressing potential hazards.
6. Assist in managing maintenance projects by coordinating with third-party service providers to ensure quality and timelines are met.
Technical Expertise
7. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in terminal infrastructure, including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other critical systems.
8. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of terminal equipment, including conveyors, lighting systems, security systems, and fire safety equipment.
9. Oversee the implementation of new technologies or systems within the terminal, ensuring they align with existing infrastructure and requirements.
10. Maintain a log of all maintenance activities, including routine checks, repairs, and incidents, ensuring comprehensive records are kept.
11. Collaborate with the procurement team to source and maintain an inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and equipment.
12. Conduct tests and adjustments on equipment post-repair, ensuring optimal functionality and preventing recurrence of issues.
13. Install new terminal equipment, adhering to technical specifications and safety standards.
14. Test emergency systems, including fire alarms, sprinklers, and backup power generators, ensuring their readiness for use.
Health and Safety
15. Comply with all safety protocols during maintenance tasks, ensuring the safety of staff, contractors, and terminal visitors.
16. Conduct risk assessments for maintenance activities, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures to mitigate risks.
17. Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with regulatory safety standards and internal terminal guidelines.
18. Regularly review and update safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment within the terminal.
Maintenance Planning & Coordination
19. Plan and organize preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to terminal operations.
20. Coordinate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure timely completion of maintenance projects.
21. Monitor equipment performance and identify areas for improvement, implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
22. Assist in procurement processes by tracking the usage of materials and tools required for maintenance activities.
