Aviation Security Facilitation Specialist

1. Job Purpose

Prepare and implement airport security protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with GACA’s National Aviation Security Program and enhancing overall safety through continuous assessment and improvement of security measures, maintaining the highest standards of protection.

2. Position Accountability Description

Risk Analysis & Reporting

1.           Analyze potential security risks and scenarios that may interrupt critical airport operations.

2.           Contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies, thereby strengthening the overall security posture and readiness.

3.           Submit regular reports on security operations and incidents to management, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.

4.           Facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning with detailed analyses and recommendations based on security assessments and audits.

Inspection & Drills

5.           Inspect security equipment and facilities regularly to identify and rectify any vulnerabilities or compliance issues promptly.

6.           Ensure all security measures are effective and up-to-date, maintaining a secure environment.

7.           Execute drills and simulations to test security response protocols and readiness levels for any incidents.

8.           Prepare effective response plans and draft detailed incident reports following security breaches or events, providing actionable information for future prevention.

Communication & Awareness

9.           Inform the team and relevant stakeholders about updates to security policies and procedures.

10.        Ensure everyone is aware and compliant with the latest standards, promoting a culture of security awareness and responsibility.

11.        Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops on security best practices and protocols.

12.        Promote a proactive security mindset among airport staff and stakeholders.

Quality Control

13.        Provide support in coordinating security drills, exercises, and simulations to ensure readiness for various security scenarios.

14.        Work closely with other team members and relevant stakeholders to maintain a high level of preparedness.

15.        Formulate security access control plans, including the issuance of permanent or temporary security cards and permits.

16.        Ensure controlled access to airport facilities and compliance with security procedures.

Incident Management

17.        Inform relevant authorities and stakeholders about any suspicious activities or security breaches.

18.        Ensure swift and appropriate response to mitigate risks and maintain safety, while upholding communication protocols.

19.        Execute response plans tailored to specific security incidents, coordinating with emergency services and other relevant authorities.

20.        Maintain a structured approach to incident management, ensuring effective containment and resolution of security situations.

Documentation & Compliance

21.        Ensure all security facilitation activities comply with national and international regulations, including ICAO standards and recommended practices

22.        Prepare documentation and records in alignment with GACA’s National Aviation Security Program to ensure compliance and streamline internal processes within the aviation security team.

23.        Ensure all guidelines are met accurately and consistently.

24.        Implement security measures and protocols as per the updated Security SOPs, ensuring adherence to the latest guidelines for safety and risk management.

25.        Amend existing security plans and procedures to incorporate new regulations and standards, ensuring ongoing compliance and improved security measures.
