Job Purpose
Prepare and implement comprehensive health programs and policies, ensuring the effective use of PPE and compliance with OSH standards, while promoting employee well-being through proactive health initiatives and continuous monitoring.
Position Accountability Description Health and Safety Management
1. Implement the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards by conducting training sessions to educate employees on the proper use and maintenance of PPE, ensuring comprehensive understanding and adherence.
2. Adapt existing regulations and guidance on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) to suit the working conditions for young workers, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and providing a safe working environment for all employees.
3. Amend health policies and procedures to incorporate new regulations and best practices, ensuring that all amendments are communicated effectively to employees and integrated into daily operations to maintain compliance and safety.
4. Inspect workstations, equipment, and processes regularly to identify potential health risks, providing detailed reports on findings and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
Health Monitoring and Wellness Programs.
5. Develop and implement health monitoring systems to track the overall health status of employees, using data from these systems to identify trends and areas for improvement, ensuring continuous health and safety enhancements.
6. Execute health and wellness programs that aim to prevent long-term health issues among employees, analyzing the effectiveness of these programs and making adjustments as needed to ensure their success and impact.
7. Provide access to health services, including medical examinations and health monitoring, ensuring that services are readily available and meet the needs of the workforce, promoting a healthy work environment.
8. Submit regular reports on health and safety conditions in the workplace to management and stakeholders, including detailed analyses and recommendations for improvements to ensure ongoing compliance and a healthy work environment.
Policy Implementation and Compliance
9. Assist in developing and revising health policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date with current regulations and best practices, supporting effective implementation and adherence throughout the organization.
10. Monitor the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and providing feedback to enhance program effectiveness and employee well-being.
11. Conduct regular audits of health and safety practices to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, identifying opportunities for improvement and addressing any deficiencies found.
12. Support emergency response planning by participating in drills and assisting in the development of health-related contingency plans, ensuring preparedness for potential health and safety emergencies.
Communication and Training.
13. Facilitate the communication of health and safety protocols to employees, ensuring clear and consistent messaging about policies, procedures, and updates to maintain a culture of safety awareness.
14. Develop educational materials and resources to promote health and safety best practices among employees, driving engagement in health initiatives and supporting a proactive approach to well-being.
Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting
15. Engage with external health and safety organizations to stay informed about new trends and best practices, incorporating relevant insights into the organization’s health management strategies.
16. Provide input on the development of health-related policies and programs based on feedback from employees and stakeholders, ensuring that health initiatives are responsive to the needs of the workforce and aligned with organizational goals.
Team Coordination and Performance.
17. Work collaboratively with team members by sharing knowledge, providing support, and actively participating in team activities, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Contribute to the development and tracking of KPIs to monitor individual and team performance.
